This year's Fall Mini-Camp and Husky Cup Competition will be held on November 6-7 at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

The training and meals schedule is as follows:

Friday Nov 6	Practice* Dinner	7:00 - 8:30 PM 9:00 - ? PM
Saturday Nov 7	Practice Husky Cup Competition Dinner & Party	9:00 - 10:30 AM 12:30 - 3:30 PM 4:00 - ? PM

*All practices held at Hawley Armory Gymnasium.

UConn's annual Fall Mini-Camp and Husky Cup Competition are open to all traditional Shotokan karate-ka. The Husky Cup is a "friendly dojo competition" and is open to all ranks, sex and ages. There will be individual kata and kumite only (no team events). See Details of Competition below. Black belts who do not wish to compete are invited to get much needed judging experience. If we get enough people, we will have separate divisions for kids as well as brown and black belt women; otherwise they will compete with adult men. The purpose of this competition is to learn and to HAVE FUN! Thus, we encourage all to attend.

Cost for the camp is only $25.00! (or $18 for Saturday only). This includes both practices, 2 dinners & the competition. If you wish to stay at a motel, contact the Best Western Regent Inn (phone 860-423-8451, about 6 mi. south of campus on Rt. 195). Otherwise, we have people who will make their houses available for free if you don't mind sleeping on the floor (bring a sleeping bag). Instructors, please e-mail or call (leave a message if I'm not in) me by WED NOVEMBER 5th. Let me know: 1) the number of people and what days they will be attending, 2) whether they are competing or judging, 3) the names, ranks, ages and sexes of competitors, and 4) who needs housing. Black belt: Heian 1-5, Tekki 1, Bassai dai, Kanku dai, Empi, Jion
Brown belt (3-1 kyu): Heian 1-5, Tekki 1, Bassai dai
Green belt (4-6 kyu): Heian 1-4
8-7th kyu: Heian 1-2
9th kyu: Heian 1

Finals (Top 4 contestants, point system)

All ranks: Kata of choice

KUMITE

Eliminations and Finals

Black belt: Free sparring*
Brown belt (3-1 kyu): Free sparring*
Green belt (4-6 kyu): Semi-free sparring (jodan, chudan, mae geri, yoko kekomi geri)
8-7th kyu: Basic one-step sparring (punching only)
9th kyu: Basic three-step sparring
